Level of intestinal infections diseases increased by 46 % in Penza

Penza, 15 August 2011. PenzaNews. Level of intestinal infections diseases increased from May till August, 2011 by 46.6 %. Relative density of children under 14 age is 37.9 % in structure of diseased. According to the press-service of the department of Federal Service for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare in the Penza region, growth of acute enteric infections disease of the population is one of indicators of problems with the system of water supply.
The press-service said: "According to long-term annual average level the incidence of disease higher than indicators in age groups is the following: till 1 year — by 60 %, from 1 till 2 years — by 22.4 %, from 3 till 6 years — by 21.4 %, from 7 till 14 years — by 58 %, adult population — by 55 %. The number of the hospitalized patients increased by 56.3 %".
Speaking about social groups, growth of acute enteric infections disease among schoolboys and girls is by 12.5 %, among employees of industry enterprises is 3.2 times more.
The press-service said: "In etiological decoding of intestinal infections of the hospitalized patients prevail rotavirus and norovirus".
