Penza, 15 August 2011. PenzaNews. More than 17 kg of narcotics, including 6 kg of papaverous straws, more than 7 kg of marihuana and 3.2 kg of marijuana resin oil were withdrawn in the Penza region within the limits of carrying out of complex of operatively-preventive operation "Poppy" from May, 23rd till July, 31st.

The press-service of the department of Federal Drug Control Service of Russia in the Penza region said: "From the beginning of operation narcopolicemen record 222 administrative offenses in the sphere of illegal circulation of narcotics and one offense of not taking action of elimination of wild-growing plants".

Besides, 3 facts of illegal cultivation of narcocontaining plants were revealed and 34 centers of wild-growing plants from which 21.5 kg of poppy were collected and 21 tons of hemp were eliminated.

Operation "Poppy" will last till October, 31st.
