Penza, 19 August 2011. PenzaNews. 1 882 persons, including 414 children got harm because of bites of the animals in the Penza region from the beginning of 2011. In 2010 only 2049 such cases were revealed.

According to the press-service of Ministry of health and social development of the Penza region, 5 cases of diseases because of furiousness among people, for the similar period of 2010 only 9 cases were registered on the territory of Russia for 6 months 2011.

The press service said: "The case of hydrophobia was registered in the Penza region since 1991".

The number of cases of furiousness among animals diseased by 22%, 71 animals became ill. The basic source of infection of furiousness of agricultural animals are still foxes — 38%.
