Staff of teachers of Penza schools will be decreased by 800 persons

Penza, 24 August 2011. PenzaNews. Staff of teachers of educational institutions of the Penza region will be decreased almost by 800 persons. Svetlana Kopeshkina, the Minister of Education of region informed about it during the press conference at the press center of news agency "PenzaNews" on Wednesday, August, 24th.

Svetlana Kopeshkina said: "Because of liquidation of ungraded schools each teacher was offered new work places and now almost 50 % of former teachers get new job. Besides, people of respectable age retired and if they didn't have big pension in the countryside, they would get lifelong compensation for community facilities".
She said that process of decreasing number of teachers in conformity with the quantity of pupils started in 2007.
According to the minister, each dismissed teacher got opportunity to have business training.
Svetlana Kopeshkina said: "Now in the Penza region there 1000 extra teachers. According to specifications, one teacher should suit 15 children, however it is impossible in 9-year ungraded school with a small number of pupils".
According to her, since September, 1st 55 young teachers will start their career at the educational institutions in the region.
