Suisides, road accidents and alcoholism became the most frequent causes of death in the Penza region

Penza, 21 September 2011. PenzaNews. The most widespread causes of death in the Penza region except deaths because of health became alcoholic poisonings — 22.5%, suicide — 16.5%, road and transport accidents — 13.9%, drowning — 7.3% and fires. The vice-chairman of the government – the head of the department on prevention of torts, interaction with law enforcement bodies and realizations of internal policy Sergey Zlatogorsky informed about it during the session of the regional government on Tuesday, September, 20th.

Sergey Zlatogorsky said: "According to the Penza regional medical information-analytical center, this year since January till August 1406 residents of Penza were lost that is 200 persons less than for the similar period of last year. As a rule, people of active working age die".

Vasily Bochkarev criticized public authorities and local government for insufficient primary preventive measures especially among youngsters.

The press-service of the government of the Penza region said: "According to the head of the region, all employees of the ministries and departments, law-enforcement and supervising structures, including their administrative board should hold meetings with the citizens personally and organize round tables with participation of the representatives of mass-media".
