In Penza 1.5 million people used railway services for travelling in 2011

Penza, 23 September 2011. PenzaNews. 1.5 million passengers from the Penza region and 500 thousand persons from Mordovia used the services of Kuibyshev railway in 2011.

According to the Press Secretary of the Penza branch of Kuibyshev railway Alevtina Goldinova, travelling by train is popular among youngsters.

She said: "The number of students and schoolboys preferring trains to other types of transport increased by 77% (from 61 thousand to 107 thousand persons) in comparison with last year".

According to her, the quantity of passengers who haven't got any benefits increased by 1% or 37 thousand persons in Mordovia. The demand for railway services among veterans also increased by 1%.
