Penza, 29 September 2011. PenzaNews. There are 554 positions of doctors and 231 vacancies of medics in the Penza region. According to the press-service of regional Ministry of health and social development, there are 4079 doctors and 13.1 thousand medics.

The press-service said: “General physicians (108 vacancies), anesthesiologists-resuscitators (56 vacancies), neurologists (27 vacancies), therapists(23 vacancies), first-aid doctors (22 vacancies), phthisiatricians and cardiologists (21 vacancies), pediatrists (19 vacancies) are the most deficit”.

Thus the quantity of people under retied age and retirees working as doctors is 40%.

121 specialists having higher medical education and 109 specialists graduated from medical college finished target contract preparation in 2011.

The source in the ministry said: “The number of the doctors hired in municipal and federal public health institutions increased twice this year. Medical assistant-obstetric staff is 100% filled. The salary increased by 14% and became 18.8 thousand rubles”.
