Penza, 3 October 2011. PenzaNews. More than 2.1 thousand residents of the Penza region suffered from an attack of pincers from the beginning of 2011. For the similar period of the last year only 1 thousand persons were bitten.

The press-service of Federal Service for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare in the Penza region said: "Last week 167 victims came to the hospitals of the region, there were 13 children under 14 age".

9 Borrelia were found in the 58 insects.

The press service said: "From the beginning of the year 68 local residents suffered from pincers on Olympic avenue in Penza. Last week three persons were bitten by pincers".
