From the beginning of the year 90 cases of rabies were registered in the Penza region

Penza, 7 October 2011. PenzaNews. 90 cases of rabies of animals were registered on the territory of the Penza region for 9 months of 2011. According to the regional government of Federal Agency of veterinary and phytosanitary supervision, the rate of decreases decreased by 40 % in comparison with 2010.

The source of the department said: "Despite decrease tendency the general level of disease on the territory of Penza, Penzensky, Gorodishchensky, Lopatinsky and Luninsky areas of the Penza region remains high".

From the beginning of the year 35 sick foxes, 2 roes and on one wolf, a marten, the beaver and an elk were revealed.

The source in the department said: "14 cats, 22 dogs and 1 horse suffered from rabies".
