Owners Penza pig farms were warned about African plague

Penza, 1 November 2011. PenzaNews. The department of Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance in the Penza region warned the owners of pig-breeding complexes of the region that there are new outbreak of African plague of pigs in Kalmykia, Kuban and in Kursk.
The source of the department said: “They ask the owners of the farms to observe veterinary sanitary norms of pig-breeding, transportations and slaughter of animals”.
They also reminded about an interdiction for import of pigs, production of pig-breeding and forages from the territories infected with plague.
The source of the department said: “It is necessary to inform the veterinary service of the Penza region and department of Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance if there are any cases of African plague diseases”.
