Penza, 2 November 2011. PenzaNews. 934 cases of acute viral nasopharyngitis were in Penza last week. Total number of cases increased by 12.9%. The total number of cases increased 3 times among children under 2 age. The indicator increased by 58.3% among children under 5 age, and by 11.1% among adults.

According to the press-service of the regional department of Federal Service for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare, as a whole across the Penza region 2092 cases of AVN are registered that is at level of a mean annual indicator. Cases of flu were not registered.

The press-service of the department said: “Many cases of disease were registered in Nikolsky, Lopatinsky, Kuznetsk, Zemetchinsky, Spassky, Neverkinsky and Sosnovoborsky areas and also in Kuznetsk and Penza”.
