Penza, 7 November 2011. PenzaNews. Governor Vasily Bochkarev proposed to create an asylum for homeless persons in the Penza region. The head of region suggested it during the operative meeting in the government on Monday, November, 7th.

The governor said: “There are a lot of empty buildings in the region, which can be reconstructed for an asylum for homeless persons and give them job which doesn’t need high qualification”.

Vasily Bochkarev criticized the absence of any work on reducing the number of homeless people in Penza.

The head of the region said: “42% of homeless people left the family, more than 31% of them released from prison. If we had worked with these people before we would have got rid of 73% of homeless people”.

The governor charged the vice-president of the government and the head of department on preventive measures of offenses, interaction with law enforcement bodies and realizations of internal policy Sergey Zlatogorsky to head working group which will be created to solve the problem of homeless people and to work out the legislative base.

Vasily Bochkarev said: “Think about the regional law which will help to solve problems”.
