Migration flow to the Penza region increased by 13%

Penza, 18 November 2011. PenzaNews. More than 27.5 thousand foreign citizens came to the Penza region from the beginning of 2011 that is 13% more than for the similar period of the previous year.

During the press conference on Friday, November, 18th the head of the department Federal Migration Service of Russia in the Penza region Michael Salmin said: “The leader of quantity of migrants in the region is Central Asia. The greatest inflow is observed from Uzbekistan. Speaking about far abroad citizens, China, Germany, Vietnam and the USA are the leading among the number of migrants”.

He said that due to the growth of the migration flow, the main task of the department is to control it.

Michael Salmin informed: “It’s known that not all migrants have good intentions. For 10 months of 2011 the employees of the department of Federal migration service and the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and FSB executed more than 1.2 thousand individually-address and large-scale operations. More than 3.5 thousand objects and places of possible location of illegal migrants more than 2.5 thousand facts of infringement of the migratory legislation were revealed”.

The head of the department of Federal migration service explained that 32% of offenders-migrants were from Uzbekistan.

Michael Salmin said: “Thanks to preventive and operative work of the departments in 2011 the number of the crimes committed by the citizens of the foreign states decreased to 111 cases in comparison to 128 cases in the previous year. Migrants made 3 murders, a number of armed assaults, swindles, thefts, bodily blows and other illegal actions”.

As he said, due to the various investment projects in agriculture sphere in 2012 the inflow of foreign labor to the Penza region will keep on increasing.
