“Technology for the Benefit” helps the blind to become active members of the society — Vladimir Rogozhkin

Visually impaired person Vladimir Rogozhkin who got the computer free of charge within the limits of the program “Technology for the Benefit” in spring of 2011 is sure that the philanthropists solve very important problems, helping blind residents of Penza to become socially active members of the civil society.
Vladimir Rogozhkin said: “Very few people reflect that the blind person practically doesn't have possibility to learn that is written to receipts on payment of utilities. But I, for example, can scan the document and by means of the special program “hear” what is written there”.
He said that blind people use the software which is established on the computer and sound each action, therefore there should be a USB-input and input for ear-phones and CD.
Vladimir Rogozhkin added that the computer helps him not only to solve daily household problems, but also to be engaged in creativity.
He said: “I write articles, stories, verses which I send in various editions by e-mail, I receive comments and I make necessary corrections. Besides, the computer gives me the chance to read and even to write down own audiobooks”.
Vladimir Rogozhkin urged the residents of Penza to participate in the program “Technology for the Benefit” more actively and help blind people and others to exist and be active members of the society.
The charitable program "Technology for the Benefit" initiated by the news agency "PenzaNews" exists in the Penza region since December 2009 and is created to help low-income families and public organizations to equip them with used, but functioning computer or office equipment.
By Tuesday, November, 22nd, over 100 units of techniques were transferred as a part of the programme. 12 families in a difficult living condition and 27 noncommercial organizations got the techniques.
The Penza branch of “Rostelecom” LLC, a portal of entertaining “Menupnz.ru”, businessman S.V. Bichinov, shopping center “Elcom”, the deputy of the Penza municipal duma Alexander Seynov, the resident of Penza Anatoly Bodrov, youth nongovernmental organization “The Union of social protection of children”, “Istok” LTD, the Internet service “Penza-sport”, and the Penza companies “Byte”, “ProSTO”, “Volgostalmontazh” LTD, “ARN-Auditor”, “SKB Amrita”, Research and Production company “KRUG”, Research and Production company "Kristall", RC "Kodeks-Penza" LLC, the Penza branch of FGUP “Rostechinventarizatsiya – Federal BTI”, company “Partner-audit”, “Svyatozar” LLC, “Penzagroproekt” LLC and PLC “Penzanefteprodukt” transferred old computer and office equipment within the limits of the project “Technology for the Benefit”.
The advisory council of the charitable program “Technology for the Benefit” includes the project founder, the editor-in-chief of news agency PenzaNews Pavel Polosin, the chief executive of the fund “The Civil union” Oleg Sharipkov, the head of the press-service of the Penza branch of “Rostelecom” LLC Alexey Makarov, the PR-manager of the Penza branch of the Volga region branch of “Megafon” LLC Olesya Postnyh and the chief specialist of the service of the analysis, planning, marketing and advertizing of bank “Kuznetsky” Maria Davidova.
