School for glaucoma patients started to work in Penza

Penza, 28 November 2011. PenzaNews. School for glaucoma patients started to work in the Penza regional ophthalmological hospital.

The press service of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Penza region informed: “For about 40 people attended the first meeting, mostly patients are already sich with glaucoma. Ophthalmologists gave lectures, answered questions and conducted individual consultations on specific situations”.

There are 10.5 thousand patients with glaucoma registered in the Penza region and, according to doctors, the same number of people have the disease, but it isn’t diagnosed.

The press-servese said: “The next meeting at school of glaucoma patient will take place in the conference hall of GBUZ “Penza Regional Ophthalmic Hospital” on February, 3. In 2012 it is planned to hold lectures for age-related retinal degeneration patients”.
