Penza, 14 December 2011. PenzaNews. Governor Vasily Bochkarev took part in the ninth congress of association “Council of municipal unions of the Penza region” on Wednesday, December, 14th.

There was the main federal inspector in the Penza region Dmitry Kadenkov, the mayor of Penza – the chairman of the board of Council of municipal unions of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev, the vice-president of the regional government Valery Savin, the vice-chairman of the government of the Penza region – the head of department of regional development Elena Stolyarova and others.

Vasily Bochkarev asked the heads of municipal unions to be engaged in tourism development in area areas more actively.

The head of region said: “Today many people don't know this or that area at all. I ask to pay attention to it. We can have industrial, educational, cultural and ecological tourism. It can be either active or passive. For example, someone likes to have a rest actively, and others prefer silence — fishing, gathering of mushrooms, and there are all necessary conditions for it in the Penza region”.

Vasily Bochkarev underlined the importance of industrial tourism development for schoolboys: “Our children don’t visit anything, except school, street and the Internet”.

During the congress the governor presented the diplomas to the councilors.

Besides, 84 councils of new municipal unions of the region joined the council.

Council of municipal unions of the Penza region includes 325 municipal unions. In the end of 2010 and in 2011 the main activity of the council was concentrated on perfection of legal bases of the organization of local government and also rendering legal, methodical and information help to municipal unions of the region.
