Penza, 16 December 2011. PenzaNews. During the press conference on Friday, December, 16th the head of the department of Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in the Penza region Victor Kunov summed up the activity of the department in 2011.

The chief of the department informed: “Counteraction to terrorist threats became the priority direction of our work during the current year. In particular, the department together with other structures was engaged in preventive maintenance of the conditions creating potential threat. So, from the beginning of the year we checked 92 enterprises of critical infrastructure”.

Victor Kunov informed that 4 exercises were held on the territory of the region. Two of them were organized in public places, one at fire-dangerous object and one more at the railway station.

Victor Kunov said: “in the course of the government program of resettlement of compatriots a member of an extremist groups was revealed. 17 cases of illegal registration of migrant were also revealed”.

The head of the department said: “Speaking about illegal turnover of weapon and ammunition, 7 criminal cases were initiated, five persons were condemned in 2011”.

Answering the question about the work of the employees of the department of federal security service in the Internet, Victor Kunov underlined that the department follows technical progress.

Victor Kunov said: “We know about the situation in social networks we work there. There is a protest there and we witness the result of it at the meeting last Saturday. Provocative appeals appear usually in social networks. It happens not only in Penza, but all over Russia, therefore, we are to use the Internet to be aware of all events”.
