Penza, 19 December 2011. PenzaNews. More than 40 road and transport accidents were registered in Penza since 8.00 till 11.00 o’clock on Monday, December, 19th. The press-service of the department of traffic police of the Russian Federation of the Penza region informed that the number of accidents increased because of bad weather conditions and snowfall which began the previous night. According to the drivers it would have been possible to avoid the accidents, if municipal road machines had worked properly.

It took the residents of Penza two-three times more time to get to work because of road accidents and streets full of snow on Monday morning. Some of them wrote about it in their microblogs.

PR-director of bank “Kuznetsk” Evgeny Romanov wrote in “Twitter”: “It’s dangerous to live and stay in a city where pavements and road are like in Penza. But there is a mayor, and utility providers”.

PR-manager of Penza branch of LLC “Megafon” Olesya Postnyh informed: “It took me 1.5 hours to get to work. Two times I made a belly landing”.

The president of fund “Anti AIDS” Sergey Oleynik shared the impressions of the snowfall: “The snow is falling and falling. My neighbor having made a belly landing took his tractor “Belarus” and cleaned the road himself. Local authorities have no time for it!”

Penza poet Yury Kvitka living in Shuist district of Penza wrote: “Half an hour has passed. And I got only to Sursky bridge”.

The resident of Penza Athanasius Baulina wrote in her microblog: “There is a lot of snow in Penza. The trip from Ternovka to Arbekovo took an hour and 50 minutes. Feel yourself Schumacher!”.

Alexander Soldatov said: “I saw the road workers in Karpinskaya street. But they will hardly clean the road until evening, therefore we will have time to have fun. The roads are the half-troubles, the fun as I have had a look, in court yard”.

Difficult road situation remains on the all territory of the Penza region because of the heavy snowfall.

According to Yury Ilyin, the deputy head of the department of housing and communal services of the region, more than 1.6 thousand machines are engaged in snow cleaning.

He added: “35 thousand persons are involved in this work”.

According to weather forecasters, heavy snowfall will last till Tuesday evening, December, 20th.
