Penza, 29 December 2011. PenzaNews. 1 905 hectares of wood have been planted in the Penza region in 2011 by Thursday, December, 29th.

According to the press-service of the department of woods, this figure on exceeds the planned volume by 27 hectares and the area of the woods planted in 2010.

The source of the department said: “There were 869 reports of various infringements of the wood legislation in 2011 that is 309 more than in the previous year. But there are less cases of illegal deforestation. In 2011 there were 83 such infringements, in 2010 there were 120 such cases”.

The department of woods of the Penza region said: “Positive dynamics is in number of forest fires on the territory of the region. In 2011 experts fix 44 fires, 737 fires were registered the previous year that is almost 17 times more”.
