Penza, 11 January 2012. PenzaNews. New Year donor action “Your Blood is the Most Precious Gift” has come to the end in Penza. 38 persons took part in this action.

The press-service of the Ministry of health and social development of the Penza region said: “Within the limits of the action more than 12 liters of donor blood were donated. It allowed to provide many regional medical institutions with its components”.

According to the press-service of the department, the participants of action donated blood not only at the Penza blood transfusion station, but also in mobile blood transfusion station of the first aid hospital named after G.A. Zaharin.

“Donors’ blood is required both for carrying out planned operations and for emergency transfusion that is quite often connected with high traumatism during New Year holidays”, the press-service said.

According to the regional Ministry of health and social development, information campaign concerning donor service has been held in the region and it promotes increase of the volunteers who donate blood in the Penza since 2008.
