Penza, 13 January 2012. PenzaNews. No increases in prices of oil products from November 2011 to date have been identified in the Penza region, according to Acting Head of the Department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service for the Penza region Maksim Beloborodov who spoke to news agency PenzaNews on Friday, January 13.

He noted that prices of oil products were monitored throughout the region every day.

“In addition to price dynamics, the Department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia also monitors the availability of petrol at petrol stations. During the specified period no deficit of oil products has been identified either,” added the spokesman.

Maksim Beloborodov emphasized that the antimonopoly service continued to observe the situation in the market of oil products and would take measures to prevent unjustified petrol price hikes resulting from monopolistic actions of suppliers.

“However, price increases are possible if other objective factors such as increases in excises and production costs arise,” concluded the Department’s Acting Head.
