Penza, 9 February 2012. PenzaNews. Hi-tech medical operations will be performed in Penza regional ophthalmologic hospital in 2012. According to Tatyana Manuhina, the head of the press-service of Ministry of Health and Social development of the region, medical establishment received a license in 2011.

“All necessary equipment cost 14 million roubles ($471 706) has already been bought at expenses of the regional budget. We got, for example, a complex with “Lumera” microscope and ophthalmologic-surgeon combine “Constilation”,” she explained.

She specified that before patients had to go to clinical centers in Moscow and other neighbor regions.

“It’s a great achievement for Penza regional ophthalmologic hospital and puts it in the list of leading clinics of the country,” she underlined.

According to the spokeswoman, expendables for hi-tech ophthalmologic operations can cost 40-43 thousand rubles ($1348 - 1449).

“600 quotas are allocated to medical institution in 2012,” said Tatyana Manuhina.

According to her, such operations can be demanded by the patient with diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, haemorrhage of crystalline humor, penetrating wound of eyes and opacity of vitreous body.
