Penza, 14 February 2012. PenzaNews. Penza region is one of five best regions of Russia on healthy way of life promotion and anti-alcohol and anti-tobacco campaigns.

According to Tatyana Manuhin, the head of the press-service of Ministry of Health and Social development of the Penza region, we achieved such results thanks to wellness centers created in the region.

“More than 100 thousand persons have been examined in wellness centers for 2 years in the Penza region. There were 21.5% more patients than in 2010,” she specified, having explained it’s easier to prevent diseases than to treat them.

The interlocutor of agency added that 81.7% of people who addressed to wellness centers had risk factors, 67% of them trained at schools of health and physiotherapy exercises courses.

“For last year life expectancy in the Penza region increased till 70 years that is 1 year higher than average index of Volga Federal District,” said the spokeswoman.
