Penza, 20 February 2012. PenzaNews. The zoo of Penza became one of seven zoos which were included in Eurasian program on reproduction and protection of Amur tigers.

“Coordinators of program on reproduction and preservation of Amur tigers of Eurasian regional association of zoos and aquariums, taking into account genetic data of existing population of the Amur tigers officially informed us that only seven zoos out of 109 recommendations about reproduction of tigers. Penza zoo was included in this number,” informed administration of the zoo.

“So under the aegis of federal authorities a number of the programs directed on preservation of such kinds of animals as Amur tigers, Far East leopards, polar bears, white whales and others is carried out,” said the administration of the zoo.
