Penza animal’s defenders signed open letter to Vladimir Putin

Penza, 21 February 2012. PenzaNews. Representatives of Penza fund on protection of animals “Novy Kovcheg” signed an open letter to prime-minister of Russia Vladimir Putin, published in newspaper “Trud” in which they asked personal meeting with the chairman of the government for rendering assistance in change of Russian legislation.
“… we try to reach through mass-media to tell about a difficult situation with position of animals in our country. In Russia there live millions owners of dogs and cats and is simple fans of animals, there are hundreds zooprotective organizations, but our rights aren't registered anywhere and not observed in any way. Whereas in many states for a long time laws on protection of animals already operate,” the letter goes.
Authors of the message assert that the project of the Federal law №458458–5 “About responsible treatment of animals” which is in the State Duma since November, 2010, isn't included in the list of the bills which are subject to consideration during the current year.
“But there are many cases of cruel treatment of the animals, frequently having tragic consequences for people. Understanding your congestion, we ask you, dear Vladimir Vladimirovich to find in the operating schedule time for a meeting with representatives of our movement,” authors of the letter asked.
The open letter was signed by 36 heads organization on protection of animals from St.-Petersburg, Moscow, Kaluga, Rostov-on-Don, Chelyabinsk, Penza and other cities.
