Penza, 22 February 2012. PenzaNews. The solemn meeting devoted to Defender of the Fatherland Day took place at Penza regional drama theater named after A.V. Lunacharsky on Wednesday, February, 22. Representatives of legislative and executive power of the region, veterans of Great Patriotic War, Afghanistan war, military men of the military units which are based in the Penza region and also law enforcement officers were present at the meeting.

“I congratulate you on a fine national holiday Defender of the Fatherland Day. Our army is strong spirit and patriotism. Force of army is courageous, prepared, competent people loving families, relatives and country. Such children serve now in our army,” the governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev said in welcome speech.

He noticed that in 2012 country leaders decided to recommence enrollment of students in Penza Artillery Engineering Institute. It’s an important event for the region.

“It’s great that we managed to save educational institution,” said the governor.

Besides, the head of the region has underlined the importance and an urgency of the government of the Russian Federation made by the chairman Vladimir Putin decisions on re-equipment of army and support of soldiers and officers.

“2012 year is a year of restoration of the Russian army that means new state orders for the Penza industrial enterprises of a defensive complex, and is the taxes, new workplaces and high salary,” said Vasily Bochkarev.

The governor wished all residents of the Penza region health, well-being, happiness and love.
