High-speed railway from Samara to Penza by 2030

Penza, 6 March 2012. PenzaNews. High-speed railway from Samara to Penza will have been built by 2030. It is said in the letter of minister of transport Igor Levitin to the prime minister of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin following the results of work of interdepartmental group which prepared the draft of state program of development high-speed and organization of high-speed railway traffic.

As “Vedomosti” reports , by the same time it is planned to make high-speed ways from Moscow to Kiev, Minsk, Warsaw and Berlin, to organize high-speed movement between Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk, Moscow and Saratov, Khabarovsk and Vladivostok, from Samara to Saransk, Saratov, Volgograd, and also from Novosibirsk to Krasnoyarsk, Barnaul, Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk.

The final version of the report hasn’t been approved yet by Ministry of Transport. It is planned that it will be adopted soon.

The working group suggested dividing the program into two stages — till 2020 and till 2030. At the first stage it is planned to start the high-speed communication between Moscow and St. Petersburg and on route Moscow — Nizhny Novgorod — Kazan — Yekaterinburg, to organize high-speed way between Moscow and Yaroslavl, Omsk and Novosibirsk, and also on routes: Moscow — Kharkov — Adler, Moscow — Minsk — Warsaw — Berlin and Moscow — Suzemka — Kiev.

The cost of high-speed movement organization in Russia hasn’t been defined yet.
