Penza, 21 May 2012. PenzaNews. Vladimir Kolokoltsev, a native of the Penza region was appointed the Minister of Interior Ministry of the Russian Federation. The corresponding decree was signed by the president of Russia Vladimir Putin on Monday, May 21. Earlier Lieutenant-General Vladimir Kolokoltsev was the chief of the Main Office of Interior Ministry of Russia for Moscow and was awarded a medal “For Serving Moscow Faithfully. XX years.”

Vladimir Aleksandrovich Kolokoltsev was born in the Penza region on May 11, 1961. He has been working in militia since 1982. In 1989 he graduated from the Highest Political School of Interior Ministry of the USSR. He is a Doctor of Juridical Science.

From 2001 to 2003 he served as a head of department of operational search bureau of the main office of Interior Ministry of Russia in the Central federal district. In 2003–2006 he was the deputy chief of operational search bureau of Main Office of Interior Ministry of the Russian Federation in Central Federal District. In 2006–2007 he served as the deputy chief of operative and investigation bureau on fight against organized crime of Main Office of Interior Ministry of the Russian Federation in Central Federal District. In 2007–2009 he was the head of Office of Interior Ministry for the Oryol region. In 2009 he held the post of the first deputy of the head of office of criminal investigation department of Interior Ministry. In September, 2009 he was appointed the chief of Main Office of Interior Ministry for Moscow.
