Penza, 23 May 2012. PenzaNews. Prosecutor’s office of the Penza region initiates inspection upon leakage of chemical which occurred in Penza on Wednesday, May 23.

“We will hold inspection because the incident had wide public response,” explained the senior assistant prosecutor of the region Juliya Makarova.

As it was reported earlier, in the evening on Tuesday, May 22, two tightly closed vessels were brought to a scrap yard in Tcherkasov Street. Next morning while sawing one of the vessels the liquid poured out from it and there was a pungent gas smell in the air.

Specialists found out that the substance was a special additive “odorant” which is usually added to gases that have no odor. All the liquid was taken out from the scene for utilization.

Nobody suffered as a result of the incident.
