Penza, 1 June 2012. PenzaNews. As the Ministry of Education of the region told news agency PenzaNews, the main aim of the new organization is to prevent adopted children from being abandoned again, to promote family forms of child placement and to create positive public attitudes towards adoptive families.

“Much has been done in the Penza region to create conditions for the development of orphaned children and children without parental care. The importance of family upbringing for the harmonious personal development of the child is well understood,” the ministry noted.

At the founding meeting of the new organization a draft charter was reviewed and candidates for membership of the managing board of the Association of Adoptive Families were proposed.

In addition, winners of the regional competition of adoptive families entitled “Family notes” received their awards.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, Children’s Rights Commissioner for the President of the Russian Federation Pavel Astakhov introduced the idea of organizing this association in April 2012.

He stated that the association was needed as a platform for exchanging experience as well as conducting forums and competitions for adoptive families.
