Penza, 1 June 2012. PenzaNews. The association of foster homes was created in the Penza region on Children’s day, on June 1.

According to the regional Ministry of Education, main goals of the association are to prevent re-abandonment, to promote family values and form positive attitude to foster homes in society.

“Much has been done in the Penza region for support of orphans and children deprived of parental care, we realize the importance of family upbringing for harmonious development of a child,” specified the ministry.

The draft charter of the new organization and board of foster homes association were discussed during the foundation meeting.

Besides, the winners of the “Family Notes” regional competition of foster homes were awarded at the meeting.

As it was reported earlier, Children’s Rights Commissioner for the President of the Russian Federation, Pavel Astakhov suggested creating this association during his visit to the Penza region in April, 2012.

He declared that the association is required as a platform for sharing experiences and for organizing forums and competitions for foster homes.
