Penza, 20 June 2012. PenzaNews. A number of events dedicated to the Day of Memory and Sorrow, will be held in the Penza region on Thursday, June 21.

“At noon, students of educational institutions of culture will gather at the Farewell monument in Tambov Street in Penza, where in the time of the Great Patriotic War, soldiers set off to the front. Then they are to take a tour at the Museum of the Defender of Brest Fortress, Andrey Kizhevatov in the hero’s motherland,” reported the press service of the regional department of culture and archive.

A meeting followed by the wreath-laying and a concert is planned at 15:00 in the village of Kizhevatov, after that about 50 students will hike to the village of Montazhny.

“By midnight, the delegation is going to come up to the monument of military and labor valor of Penza residents to take part in the meeting, wreath-laying and lighting memorial candles,” pointed out the press service.
