Over 600kg of okroshka cooked in Penza

Penza, 30 June 2012. PenzaNews. Okroshka (cold soup made from kvass, vegetables and meat) weighing 611.5kg was cooked in Penza on Saturday, June 30. Representatives of the international agency “Interrecord” recorded the achievement for the Guinness Book of Records. About 24kg of radish, more than 45kg of beef, 33kg of eggs, 34kg of cucumbers, more than 40kg of potatoes, 4.6kg of horseradish and 4.8kg of mustard were used to prepare the dish. Okroshka was seasoned with onions, sour cream, dill and 3kg of salt. The total weight of products was 211.5kg. After that it was mixed with 400kg of kvass.

Professional chefs from several Penza restaurants were preparing the giant dish for about three hours.
Every one could try okroshka after the record was established.
The previous record was set in early June in Moscow. Weight of then the largest okroshka cooked with the help of show business stars and politicians amounted to 326kg. The record of 2010 was 225kg.
