As PR manager of the Penza office of Megafon company Olesya Postnykh told news agency “PenzaNews,” owners of modern mobile phones, smartphones, tablet computers, laptops, and other gadgets with WiFi technology can go to social networks, surf the net, play online games, check the weather forecast, email and many more travelling by the urban trolley buses which are decorated with the poster “Free WiFi on board!”

She noted that the creation of free wireless Internet zone became a very important step towards the development of modern urban infrastructure.

“The initiator of the project was Penza administration. Penza public transport was equipped with Megafon routers to provide wireless Internet. This company has a successful experience of WiFi zones creation, in particular, in Penza zoo, hospitals and maternity clinics,” said Aleksey Churin, Head of Automatization Service and Automatic Control Systems movement.

Olesya Postnykh explained that to connect to the Internet, a user should update the list of available wireless networks on his/her device and select the network MegaFon FREE.

“WiFi in trolley buses is available to all passengers, SIM-card of any operator can be installed in the mobile device. The Internet connection speed in the zone of WiFi is up to 2 Mbps. Up to five users in each trolley bus can log onto the Internet,” clarified the agency interlocutor.

Penza residents praised the innovation and called WiFi in trolley buses not just fun, but the ability to use their time more efficiently.

“Moreover, availability of such advanced technologies in usual public transport has the most positive impact on the image of the city,” said Penza resident Maria Sokolova.
