Penza, 9 July 2012. PenzaNews. The number of springs in which water quality does not correspond to sanitary, chemical and microbiological parameters has increased in the last three months in Penza. According to Russian consumer surveillance of the Penza region, in I quarter of 2012 the water in 6 springs did not meet sanitary-chemical standards of quality, in II quarter the number rose to 8. “The number of springs, where water does not meet the microbiological standards has increased from 9 to 11,” specified in the department, adding that the use of drinking water from contaminated springs causes the risk of massive infection. To prevent intoxication using boiling water is mandatory.

Nitrate index is exceeded in the spring water in Kurskaya St, 50, Chebyshev St, 70, Vishnevaya St, 6, Stavropolskaya St, 2 and 27, Gornaya, 22, Pravda St, 165, and at cordon Studeny.

Microbiological parameters are violated in the spring “Samovarnik” in Stanislavsky St, 12, Gornaya St, 22, Pravda St, 165, Kurskaya St, 50, Chebyshev St, 70, Tulskaya, St, as well as in Lenin forestry, at the cordon Studeny, ski stadium and autodrome “Virazh.”
