Penza, 12 July 2012. PenzaNews. The Committee of Penza City Duma, formed at the initiative of Mayor Ivan Belozertsev, inspected clinic No. 1 at City Hospital No. 1 on Thursday, July 12. Members of the Committee conducted a survey among the patients, which identified several problems in the health care center. In particular, one of the patients complained about long lines – sometimes one has to come an hour before an appointment.

Another inconvenience identified during the inspection was the lack of information about the medical staff work schedules and absence of specific specialists.

“The patients are forced to make an appointment almost a month before the actual visit. And they are not informed that there is the same specialist working in a nearby clinic, having a much shorter line to wait in,” noted the Deputy Chairman of the Penza City Duma Yuri Alpatov.

According to the Director of the Medical Institute of Penza State University Alexander Mitroshin, the most important for the patient is not the color of the walls in a medical facility or the form of handrails on the stairs, but the quality of services.

“The Russian president Vladimir Putin, the governor of the Penza Region Vasily Bochkarev, the Head of the city of Penza Ivan Belozertsev are socially oriented in their politics. The development of medicine in the country obtains significant funds, and the task of our committee is to inspect the quality of their implementation,” he stressed.

Yuri Alpatov noted in his turn that all the inconveniences in the work of the clinic should be eliminated in the nearest future.

He also clarified that City Duma committee will continue visiting health facilities of Penza.
