Number of corruption-related crimes increased by 2,4 times in Penza region

Penza, 17 July 2012. PenzaNews. Investigative Department of Investigative Committee of Penza region identified and looked into 185 crimes of corruption-related crimes in the first half of 2012. This was announced by the deputy Head of Regional Office Gregory Zhitenev during a press conference on Tuesday, July 17.

According to him, during the same period in 2011 this type of crimes were reported almost 2,5 times less — 77.
“In 2012, 77 crimes were revealed under Art. 292 of the Criminal Code “Official forgery,” 30 crimes under Art. 290 of the Criminal Code “Bribe taking,” and 8 crimes under Art. 285 of the Criminal Code “Abuse of official powers,” pointed out Gregory Zhitenev.
He also added that in 2012, 55 officials have been involved in corruption-related crimes, of which 10 people are police officers, 5 are officers of local authorities, and 6 are professors of higher educational institutions.
