The Ministry of Regional Development of Russia set standard price for 1 sq. meter of the total living space for the second half of 2012, and average market price for 1 sq. meter of the total living space for the structural units of the Russian Federation for the third quarter. “The standard of cost for 1 sq. meter of the total living space of the Russian Federation in the second half of 2012 is approved in the amount of 32,200 rubles,” states the order of the ministry.

The document specifies that the average market price established for Russian regions is for application by executive authorities to calculate the size of social benefits available to all categories of citizens for whom they are provided from the federal budget to purchase the living space.

For the Penza region the average market price of 1 sq. meter in the third quarter 2012 is 27,050 rubles.

The highest price set in the Volga (Privolzhsky) Federal District is 35,450 rubles in the Nizhny Novgorod region, and the lowest one is set in the Saratov region — 24,600 rubles.

The highest cost of housing throughout Russia is set in Moscow — 88,700 rubles.
