14 km of railway tracks to be repaired in summer in Penza

Penza, 19 July 2012. PenzaNews. 14 km of Kuibyshev railway tracks are planned to be repaired in the Penza region during the summer of 2012.

“91 km of railway track is subjected to reconstruction, 66,3 km – for enhanced average repair, 17,6 km – for average repair. In addition, 61 railway transfer mechanisms will be replaced. At the moment, 40% of the summer plan of work have been completed,” reported the press secretary of Kuibyshev railway in the Penza region Alevtina Goldinova.
She noted that currently one of the most freight-intensive sections of the railway, “Syuzyum — Kuznetsk,” is repaired.
“Reconstruction of 24,4 km has involved more than 250 employees of the machine station No. 151. As a part of track maintenance complete replacement of the top cover of the railroad bed is being done, a new track panel laid on concrete sleepers and crushed stone ballast,” clarified the agency interlocutor.
Alevtina Goldinova stressed that such reconstruction will further the reliability and safety of road trains with fixed speed and weight limits.
“At the final stage jointless laying “velvet way” will be made,” she added.
