Reconstruction of Moskovskaya Street to start in Penza

Penza, 23 July 2012. PenzaNews. Reconstruction of Moskovskaya Street in Penza, planned in the framework of preparation for the 350th anniversary of the city, will be launched shortly. According to the press service of the city administration, the tender was held and the contract with the contractor will be signed this week. “Most of the street will be reconstructed – from Kuraev Street to Bakunin Street. The work is planned to be finished in summer 2013. The total project cost will be about 360 million rubles,” said the press service.

It is planned that the new coating will be made of durable material – granite paving with a thickness of 8 centimeters, which was used in other cities and has served for 20 years already. “Reconstruction will be held in two stages. Firstly, the repair of pavement will take place from Kuraev Street to Gorky Street and will be completed in autumn 2012. At the same time there will be the reconstruction of the sidewalk. The second phase is the reconstruction from Gorky Street to Bakunin Street which will end next summer,” added in the press service.
