Penza, 30 July 2012. PenzaNews. The first dialysis center in the region, located in Krasnova St in Penza, will begin operating in October 2012. This was announced by German Melnikov, the director of the medical company “Fresenius Nephrocare” (the investor of the project) at a press conference on Monday, July 30. “Without active participation of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the region and personally governor Vasily Bochkarev dialysis center construction would have been impossible,” he said.

According to German Melnikov, despite the fact that the realization of this project will cost “Fresenius Nephrocare” about 250 million rubles, treatment there will be free of charge.

“Dialysis treatment in the medical center for Penza residents will be covered by mandatory health insurance. It is noteworthy that the center is located close to the city hospital No. 5, which is also very convenient for patients,” he stressed.

The head of the dialysis department of Penza regional hospital named after N.N. Burdenko Elena Khrustaleva noted that currently 400 patients in the region require dialysis treatment.

“At the moment we are able to serve 120 patients. The dialysis center will increase this number by 4–5 times,” she said.
