According to Archpriest Ioann Yavorsky, the idea of building a prayer room at the station has been discussed for five years.

“This year an agreement with the management of the railway was reached, and within a month the chapel was built. Church services for the travelers will be held here, and everyone who wants can come any time and put a candle or order a service,” pointed out the Archpriest.

Archpriest Sergey Loskutov also addressed to the parishioners noting that the opening of the chapel is a historic event.

“We depart from the railway station to different parts of our vast Motherland. Everyone can pray for his health and salvation. Various thoughts come to the traveler during his journey, and when he comes to the prayer house, he finds joy and comfort in their feelings and deeds,” he stressed.

In turn, the press-secretary of Penza branch of Kuybyshev Railway Alevtina Goldinova expressed gratitude to the representatives of the diocese.

“We have opened a chapel in a meaningful place for the city, and we hope that the grace of God may abide with all of us, and everyone using the railway will have less worries,” she noted.
