According to the head of news agency PenzaNews Ivan Malikov, last year the media organization continued to implement a strategy for the development of its online resource.

“After the launch of more functional and “friendly” version of the site in July 2011, the audience began to grow steadily. So on weekdays, more than 2,700 people read the news on the website of news agency “PenzaNews,” and sometimes the number of readers is more than 14 thousand,” he added.

Ivan Malikov stressed that not only the size of the audience but also its qualitative indicators are of great importance.

“Certainly, the regular visitors of the website of news agency PenzaNews are the representatives of federal and regional media, business leaders, politicians, civil servants, bankers, experts and analysts of different industries. However, there is noticeable increase in the number of socially active people who cite the news of the agency and express their position in relation to the published information through social networks,” he explained.

The head of news agency PenzaNews added that the agency’s website is still moving towards multimedia.

“The text information is often accompanied by pictures and video which complete the picture and allow the users to form their own opinions,” Ivan Malikov said.

According to him, the popularity of the English version of the site has also grown over the year, which demonstrates the interest of foreigners in political, economic, cultural and sporting events in the Penza region.

“It is great that they give preference to the website of news agency “PenzaNews.” This is yet another confirmation that our journalists follow the basic principles of the agency: “Accurately, fairly, promptly,” Ivan Malikov concluded.

The site http://penzanews.ru was started up in the Internet on 3 September 2007.

In February 2008, the site was registered as mass media (news agency) in Russian Mass Media, Communications and Cultural Protection Service of Moscow.

The design of the Internet resource was changed in 2009 for the first time. In July 2011, a new version of the site http://penzanews.ru was started up, rebranding of the news agency was made. A visual symbol of the news agency is “comma.”

The main directions of work of news agency PenzaNews are formation of the continuous news line on the website http://penzanews.ru, sending messages to the subscribers, organization of press conferences, audio news production (together with “Russkoe Radio”), translation of the most significant news into English and gathering and processing of analytical, expert and strategic information.

News agency PenzaNews is the constant participant of regional and inter-regional specialized exhibitions and the winner of professional All-Russia competitions.
