Penza, 17 September 2012. PenzaNews. 9,725 children were born in the Penza region in 8 months of 2012, which is 660 babies more than in the same period of the last year.

According to the Head of the Maternal and Child Health Department of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the region Marina Evstigneeva, such a birth rate — 10,6 per one thousand people — has not been registered in the Penza region since late 90’s.

“Most of the children were born in Penza, and Bessonovky, Kuznetsky and Gorodishchensky areas,” she explained.
