Penza, 17 September 2012. PenzaNews. Over 130 thousand residents of the Penza region used social support during 8 months of 2012.

“Social assistance was received by 124 thousand veterans of labor and military service, 4,388 veterans of labor of the region, 1,5 thousand workers of the home front, over 900 rehabilitated and recognized as victims of political repressions, 178 women awarded the medal of “Mother Valor” I and II degrees, 20 Heroes of Socialist Labor, and 12 widows of the Heroes of Socialist Labor,” reported the press service of the Ministry of Health and Social Development.

These categories of citizens were provided with monthly payments.

“To be precise, compensation of local telephone services was received by 74,936 people. Cash compensation for housing and utility services was received by 131 thousand beneficiaries and their families,” clarified the press service.

Social support expenses allocated from the regional budget are 961,9 million rubles, which is 19,8 million more than during the same period of 2011.

“On average, each beneficiaries received 914,87 rubles per month. To compare, in 2011 it was 910,23 rubles,” the press service added.
