Penza, 2 October 2012. PenzaNews. Water protection zones and bank protection strips were established at the Sura river in Penza and Shemysheysky areas.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Forestry, Hunting and Nature of the region, it is held under the state contract in accordance with the Water Code of Russia.

“The posts, indicating the border, are aimed at informing the citizens and legal entities of specific conditions for conducting business and other activities in order to prevent pollution, contamination, soiling, and depletion,” the ministry noted.

The press service added that these water protection zones would also help to preserve the habitat of fauna and flora.
