Penza, 11 October 2012. PenzaNews. Control over the elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region, to be held on the coming Sunday, October 14, will be carried out properly. This was announced by the Regional Coordinator of the Association of NGO “For protection of the rights of voters “The Voice” Anton Strunin during a press conference in Penza on Thursday, October 11. “Dozens of observers have been trained and are going to attend several polling stations on the voting day,” he said.

Anton Strunin underlined that the representatives of “The Voice” will collaborate with observers from other parties, if they detect any violations in the voting process.

“The results of our work will be announced the day after the election, on October 15,” he said.

Another participant of the press conference, an activist of the association “Civil Control” Valery Bespalov noted that the organization also plans to oversee the election to the regional parliament.

“Our observers will be present at each polling station from the very beginning till the end of the election without moving from one station to another,” he said.

In addition, Valery Bespalov did not exclude the possibility of interaction of the association “Civil Control” and “The Voice,” if the representatives of one of organizations detect violation.

Meanwhile, according to information available to news agency “PenzaNews,” in late August – early September 2012 the members of “Civil Control” discussed in detail suitability of interaction with “The Voice,” and the result was an ideological split: some members supported such cooperation, but other activists said that the organization has been discredited, as it was funded by various foreign organizations, including the U.S. National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the Agency for International Development (USAID).
