Penza, 11 October 2012. PenzaNews. Environmental action of planting trees in the streets of the city, which will last for a month, started in Penza on Thursday, October 11.

According to the press service of the city administration, the event began at noon by houses No. 152, 154 and 156 on Kalinina St.

“Local residents, representatives of the district administration and social movement activists took part in the action. Within an hour, they planted dozens of saplings of lime, ash and birch. This week they plan to plant about one thousand of young trees and shrubs in Zapadnaya Polyana, Ternovka, and other districts of the city,” clarified the press service.

The City Hall added that the residents of Kalinina St, who assisted in tree planting, got tickets to the amusement section of the Central Park of Culture and Rest named after V. Belinsky.

According to the deputy head of administration of Pervomaysky district of Penza Petr Zigunov, the citizens wishing to join the action should contact the managing organization, Municipal Unitary Enterprise or the district administration.
