Penza, 12 October 2012. PenzaNews. The Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on rules and management of the lower house of Parliament, a member of LDPR faction Alexander Kurdyumov believes that signs of struggle between commercial suppliers of poppy in Russia are traced in the criminal case of the head of the chemical-analytical laboratory of Penza Research Institute of Agriculture Olga Zelenina.

“I see here a commercial struggle between competitors who import confectionery poppy in Russia, especially since it is not produced in the country. It is understood that 100 tons of poppy would contain a few grams of morphine. We have to agree, it's strange to try to find out whether a man gets drug intoxication of a bun with poppy seeds,” Alexander Kurdyumov said during a meeting with reporters at the press center of news agency PenzaNews on Friday, October 12.

“Federal Drug Control Service should better think of what to do with the open sale of drugs at discos or the people driving in drug intoxication. This is what they must watch for, not the pastry poppy,” added the member of Russian State Duma.
