Penza police found no serious violations of law on election day

Penza, 15 October 2012. PenzaNews. Police officers found no serious violations of law during the election to the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region of the fifth convocation. This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the region, police colonel Nikolai Sarmin during a press conference on Monday, October 15.

“Eight complaints about alleged violations were received on the election day. One complaint was denied of consideration, the other three were sent to the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Penza region. Four more complaints are still being considered,” he said.

Nikolay Sarmin stressed that on the election day not a single person was delivered to the police station on suspicion of violating the law during the elections.

“Law enforcement agencies detained several suspects, who were released after the proceedings,” he said.

1,479 police officers and over 700 representatives of legally oriented public organizations supervised the election to the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region. All polling stations in the region were inspected for anti-terrorism security together with Federal Security Service officers of Russia in the Penza region.
